Councils and Committees

As NYSACRA and NYSRA have come together to form the NY Alliance for Inclusion and Innovation, the new combined organization is taking this time to review respective committees and the mission of each committee’s work.

During this time, several of the regular committee meetings have been postponed. If you are a participant of a committee or are interested in joining a committee in the future, please watch for announcements of upcoming meetings throughout the year. If you would like to receive information about a particular committee or council, please email kconnally@nyalliance.org to be added to our e-lists.

Our Councils and Committees include the following:

    Workforce Committee

The focus of this committee is to review and discuss trends and issues in the recruitment, retention, and development of DSPs, Clinicians and other staff that work to support the mission of our member organizations. This Committee has been active in guiding discussion on DSP Credentialing, OPWDD and Federal policy changes that impact member organizations and their workforce, and in advising ways the NY Alliance can provide further information and education on the critical role that DSPs provide in supporting individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities. If you are interested in participating on this committee please contact Kirsten Sanchirico.

    Individualized Supports and Housing Committee

The focus of this committee is to review and discuss trends, opportunities and challenges in providing individualized supports and services in all areas that impact a person with I/DD’s life. This committee serves as a resource to the NY Alliance and OPWDD on proposed regulations and challenges to supporting people in most individualized ways. If you are interested in participating on this committee please let Susan Kittle know by emailing her at skittle@nyalliance.org.
