    When speaking about disabilities in the workplace, very often the discussion focuses on physical disabilities. However, employers are increasingly receiving requests for accommodations related to mental health/psychiatric disabilities.

    According to the National institute for Mental Health, nearly one in five U.S. adults lives with a mental illness. In 2016, there were an estimated 44.7 million adults aged 18 or older in the United States with a mental illness. Does your organization understand its obligations in accommodating employees with mental health disabilities?

    In this presentation, we will discuss:

    • mental health conditions that may qualify as disabilities under the Americans with Disabilities Amendment Act and New York Human Rights Law;
    • available accommodations for mental health disabilities;
    • common workplace concerns involving individuals with mental health conditions; and
    • resources for employers seeking to accommodate individuals with mental health conditions.

    We hope that you will join us for a session jam-packed with real life examples and practical recommendations for ensuring a legally-compliant workplace.
