    The Center for Innovation & Learning in partnership with the NYS Rehabilitation Research and Training Institute provides training opportunities for Registered Nurses, Social Workers, Licensed Mental Health Counselors, Community Rehabilitation Counselors and more. 

    The NYS Rehabilitation Research and Training Institute is recognized as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers (#0105) as well as licensed mental health counselors (#MHC-0054) by the New York State Education Department's State Boards for Social Workers and Licensed Mental Health Counselors.

    Current Trainings Available:

    NYS RRTI trainings are provided both in-person at our office in Albany, New York as well as live, remotely via GotoWebinar. Registrants can choose how they would like to attend during the registration process.

    Diabetes Management Training

    Our Diabetes Management trainings, Diabetes 360 and Diabetes 180 have been approved by NYS OPWDD as meeting their requirements for RNs managing Diabetes. The 2018 schedule is now available. Click Here to learn more and register for upcoming trainings.

    Diabetes 360: Full Circle Understanding - This training meets the requirement for diabetic education of RN's contained in NYS OPWDD Administrative Directive 2003-01 and qualifies as the initial RN Train-the-Trainer. 

    Diabetes 180: Supporting the Best Possible Outcomes - This training meets the requirement for diabetic education of RN's contained in NYS OPWDD Administrative Directive 2003-01 and qualifies as the Annual Renewal for RN's who have already completed the Train-the-Trainer.

    Telephone Triage Training

    Telephone triage / management has become an important dimension of ID/DD residential care systems. Increased numbers of individuals with ID/DD who have complex healthcare needs now live in community settings. This training is intended to provide RNs with the tools necessary to assess a situation over the phone and to provide direction to direct care staff.

    Presenters: Kathleen Keating & Victoria Schultz both former NYS OPWDD Nursing Directors 

    This continuing nursing education activity was submitted for approval by the Northeast Multi-State Division, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont Nurses Associations are members of the Northeast Multi-State Division of the American Nurses Association.
