Legislative & Advocacy Event
Typically held in early February, this event is purposely timed to take place shortly after the release of the Executive Budget proposal. Cosponsored by the Arc New York, the forum is an opportunity for provider organizations to advocate for necessary funding and key pieces of legislation that impact their agency directly or the service sector as a whole. NY Alliance members are encouraged to meet with their Assemblymembers and Senators while in Albany for this important advocacy opportunity.
NY Alliance Annual Conference
Each year, the NY Alliance convenes a Pre & Annual Conference for 3.5 days in April. The Pre-Conference is a half-day of learning including specialized tracks. The Annual Conference takes place in the three days following the Pre-Conference and includes extraordinary keynote presenters; over 50+ presentations across 10+ tracks; an art exhibit showcasing the creative abilities of people with disabilities and the staff who support them; a 5K Fun Run which raises funds for DSPs and an Annual Excellence Awards banquet honoring leaders in the field.
Data, Finance & AI Virtual Summit
The Data, Finance & AI Virtual Summit takes place in September each year and showcases a series of webinar presentations covering a diverse range of subjects related to leveraging artificial intelligence and other technological advancements in fields such as data, financial sustainability, the financial state of the OPWDD service delivery system, and various other relevant areas.
FI/Self-Direction Summit
The FI/Self-Direction Summit which takes place annually in October, serves as a platform for information sharing and best practice discussions alongside networking opportunities with provider agencies and technology vendors about fiscal intermediary work, budget utilization, and much more.
Leadership Conference
The NY Alliance Leadership Conference takes place in early December each year. This conference provides high-level sessions on timely and pertinent topics for executive management and emerging leaders.
