NYS DOH Redistribution Guidance for the Covid-19 Vaccine: According to OPWDD, vaccine providers are permitted to bring vaccines to a second location to administer, as long as the vaccination provider does the administration and brings the remainder back to their main facility – vaccine “drop off” is not permitted. Additionally, according to OPWDD, transporting the vaccine to administer it elsewhere (e.g. a group home) is not considered redistribution and therefore does not require specific approval.
Week 2 Distribution Guidance from NYS DOH: The vaccine supply is a week-to-week allocation, with each authorized administration location receiving a regional supply. As a result, providers are asked by OPWDD and DOH to prioritize using the guidelines in the attached document. Several key areas covered in the document include: Provider agency prioritization processes; Who is responsible for administering the vaccine; Second dose scheduling; Vaccine Safety.
